BENGALURU: In a big development, Malcolm Frank, Cognizant EVP and president of digital business & technology, is retiring from the Nasdaq-listed firm effective September 1.
Rajesh Nambiar, EVP and chairman of Cognizant India, replaced Frank as president, digital business & technology effective June 4, while continuing in the role of Cognizant India chairman, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Friday. Frank oversaw a bulk of Cognizant’s business.
“Frank ceased to be an executive officer as of June 4, 2021, but will remain an employee through his retirement date of September 1, 2021 to assist with the transition. In accordance with the terms of the Company’s Retirement, Death and Disability Policy, Mr Frank will be eligible to receive continued vesting of outstanding equity and a pro-rated portion of his 2021 annual cash incentive, if the applicable performance goals are attained, in connection with his retirement,” Cognizant said.
Malcolm oversaw Cognizant’s broad digital services portfolio including digital strategy, AI & analytics, interactive, digital engineering, IoT, digital content platform, and Cognizant’s Accelerator Program, which incubates new industry-specific digital ventures.
Prior to this role, he was EVP, chief strategy officer and chief marketing officer. He has co-authored two best-selling books, “What to Do When Machines Do Everything” (2017) and “Code Halos” (2014).
